IMPORTANT NEWS: The COBRA subsidy has been extended. President Obama signed the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2010, into law on December 21, 2009. Through Section 1010 of this legislation, the eligibility period for the COBRA subsidy has been extended to February 28, 2010, and the period of subsidized coverage has increased by six months, up to a maximum of 15 months.
